Cornerstone Bank Spencer Renovation
Location: Spencer, MA
Client: Cornerstone Bank
Architect: Studio Q Architecture
We’re excited to announce the successful completion of this full-scale renovation of a three-story, 20,000-square-foot building—all while maintaining full banking operations.
A major challenge was installing a new five-stop elevator, which required basement excavation in an existing structure with a high water table just below the slab. Despite this, we successfully integrated the elevator while also upgrading the building’s fire protection system to meet modern safety codes.
Inside, the renovation introduced sleek new teller banking pods, fully re-imagined office spaces, upgraded restrooms, conference rooms, training areas, and inviting break rooms for employees. Every space was designed for functionality and comfort.
The exterior received a dramatic transformation, including the removal of an adjacent building to improve parking and traffic flow. The drive-thru was expanded and enhanced with state-of-the-art Interactive Teller Machines, improving customer convenience. To align with the Cornerstone brand, the building’s façade was completely refreshed, featuring welcoming entrances at the front, side, and rear.
The result? A modern, efficient, and visually striking banking facility that enhances both customer experience and operational efficiency.
