Madigan was retained to construct Mercedes-Benz of Shrewsbury when the owners of Wagner Motors decided to move their long-established dealership from Boylston to heavily-trafficked Route 9 in Shrewsbury, MA. Working closely with the local architect as well as Mercedes officials from Germany, Madigan constructed this 38,000 sf steel and glass structure in just under 12 months.
Meeting the project budget was a critical requirement, and an extensive value engineering exercise was undertaken prior to breaking ground. Once the scope and budget were aligned, Madigan worked successfully on the tight site, only 40’ away from Wagner’s adjacent BMW dealership. Mercedes-Benz brand standards were unique and important, and adapting them to the local building standards required skill and the ability to cooperate with several parties. The new corporate office of Wagner Motor Group are housed in a large second level.
