Description

Madigan is a fourth-generation construction management firm located in Worcester, MA.  We provide quality construction services to an extensive list of repeat and new clients. Great relationships with clients, subcontractors, and employees are at the core of our company’s success over the years. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to become a member of our team.

The Accounting Assistant will provide accounting support to the Controller for all functions of the Finance Department including accounts payable, financial recordkeeping, and payroll processing.

 

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain earned time accruals (PTO) and attendance records to ensure accuracy for all employees.
  • Import and enter invoices and subcontractor applications. 
  • Generate weekly reports for Management.
  • Prepare weekly checks and maintain AP database.
  • Enter contracts,  change orders, and budgets into the accounting system.
  • Assist Controller with bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and special projects.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in the Construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sage, or equivalent accounting software, and outsourced payroll a plus.
  • Strong communication, customer service, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work with and be part of a dynamic team.
